How to Care for Himalayan Salt Tiles, Bricks, Lamps, and Wellness Products

Himalayan salt products are natural mineral pieces, so color, texture, translucency, and small surface variations are normal. With thoughtful placement and simple maintenance, salt tiles, bricks, lamps, and wellness accessories can stay attractive for years.

Keep Salt Dry

Salt attracts moisture from the air. Avoid direct water contact and do not clean salt products with a wet cloth. In humid rooms, improve ventilation and use climate control or a dehumidifier when appropriate.

If moisture appears on a lamp or decorative piece, unplug any electrical components and gently wipe the salt and surrounding surface with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Cleaning Tiles and Bricks

For ordinary dust, use a soft dry brush, microfiber cloth, or low-suction vacuum with a brush attachment. Work gently so you do not scratch the surface or loosen small mineral edges.

Do not use household cleaners, polish, steam, or abrasive pads. For installed walls, inspect joints, trim, supports, and nearby surfaces periodically—especially in spas, saunas, or humid climates.

Care for Salt Lamps

• Place the lamp on a stable, dry, heat-resistant surface.
• Use a protective mat or coaster on delicate furniture.
• Keep it away from sinks, tubs, open windows, and heavy condensation.
• Unplug the lamp before cleaning or changing the bulb.
• Use only the bulb type and wattage appropriate for the lamp assembly.
• Keep electrical components and cords dry.

Natural salt lamps may “sweat” when the surrounding air is humid. Regular use can gently warm the salt, but it does not replace proper room ventilation or moisture control.

Care for Bath, Shower, and Foot-Wellness Salt

Products designed for brief external water contact gradually dissolve with use. After each use, remove the item from water, pat it dry, and store or hang it in a ventilated area away from metal, wood, stone, and other surfaces that may be affected by concentrated saltwater.

For a salt foot dome lamp, use only with clean, completely dry feet while seated. Test the temperature first, never stand on the dome, and keep it away from water.

Handling and Storage

Salt is heavy and brittle. Lift larger pieces carefully, avoid impacts, and store spare tiles or bricks flat in a dry indoor location. Keep original packaging when possible, and do not stack products where shifting weight could cause breakage.

What Natural Variation Looks Like

Veins, cloudy areas, crystalline lines, small chips, and differences in orange, pink, red, white, or gray tones are natural. For walls, mixing pieces before installation creates a balanced pattern rather than grouping similar shades together.
